My fresh water pump cycles occasionally

If you experience occasional pulses from your fresh water pump fit a 15mm non-return valve between the tank and the pump. The valve can be purchased from a plumbers merchant, or your chandler. You will need adaptors to fit the 15mm plastic hose.

On an 1100, the tank and pump are to be found in the locker under the aft-cabin berth.

Editors Note: Before fitting the valve ensure that all air is removed from the system by running the water from all taps, make sure you including the cockpit shower. This may remove air that can cause the pump to cycle.
