We made your Vang easier to Use and at the same time reduced the load on our deck eye.The standard vang consists of a pair of double blocks, and a single block. This gives a mechanical advantage of 8:1 and a deck-eye load of 1/4 of the vang load. Some deck-eyes have distorted and bent, so making this modification helps prevent this. Replacing the double-sheeve blocks with tripple-sheeve blocks increases the mechanical advantage to 12:1 and reduces the deck-eye load to 1/6th of the vang load. By choosing the blocks carefully we were able to use smaller blocks, I chose Ronstan bearing blocks. These have twice the working load of similar blocks. I replaced the existing double blocks with triple blocks, ropeing-up the same way.
